It has been months since the N8 was announced. We’ve seen several videos and tutorials on the device features and capabilities. And today here’s a good news for those of you who have been waiting for the device(atleast for those of you in Italy). The Nokia N8 is available for pre-order €469 price tag on Nokia’s own Italian online shop, and thats the SIM free unlocked unit. Shipping though is end of September, so you are booking now and waiting.

Now about that price. When Nokia announced the N8 back in April they said the estimated retail price was €370 before taxes and operator subsidies. With Italian VAT that works out to around €444, so €469 is still a bit more than what we expected. We wont be surprised if it comes down a little once the phone actually hits the shops.

What you get is the first Symbian^3 device, a 12MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a xenon flash, 720p HD video, a 3.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 16GB internal memory with microSD upto 32GB, micro-HDMI out and free navigation preloaded, all in an anodised aluminium body. Not bad at all !!

Apple’s products look great in white. It’s like a master piece. And thats why most of you have been waiting for iPhone 4 white despite its release in June. Well, here is a bad news. Apple has announced that the launch of white iPhone 4 will be delayed due to quality issues. They also said the availability of the more popular black models is not affected. Apple’s statement says the white ones “have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected”, so they will not be available until later this year. Later this year ?? No month, no date.

This is the second push. On June 23rd Apple said white would arrive in the second half of July. Then last week, at the antenna press conference, Apple said it was on track for the end of July. Now its later this year. Reports say the trouble is the white finish, it has to be opaque enough to look good and still let the signal through near the antenna.

On the press event last week Apple announced free bumpers to all the iPhone 4 customers as many faced severe signal losses. For those who have already purchased the bumpers will get a refund. For more information you may want to take a look here Apple has launched an App to apply for the free case, and its simply called iPhone 4 Case Program. Free download, you launch it on your iPhone 4, sign in with your iTunes account or Apple ID and pick your case. One per device only.

Apple couldnt make enough of their own bumpers, so theyve thrown in cases from other brands. You can pick the black Apple Bumper, Incase Snap Case, Belkin Shield Micra, Griffin Motif or Reveal Etch, Speck Fitted or PixelSkin HD. Whatever you choose takes three to five weeks to reach you.

Bought your iPhone 4 before today ?? Then you have to apply by August 22, otherwise its 30 days from your purchase, and the phone itself has to be bought by September 30. All of us have plans to buy one or other smartphone soon or later. If Nexus One is the one in your list, better act fast. Google has confirmed that they will be selling the last batch of Nexus Ones soon. And there after Nexus One will be available via partners. So go get one while the stock lasts. Once this batch is sold out, the web store is done with selling phones.

The word came on Friday on the official Nexus One blog. Google says the last shipment has arrived, and once those units are gone you cant buy a Nexus One from Google anymore. From Google it has been $529 unlocked, or $179 on a T-Mobile contract in the US. So Apple hosted a press conference today to discuss the iPhone 4 antenna issues. We believe all of you might have heard about this and atleast some of you might have followed the live coverages. Just in case if you missed this, dont worry. Apple has just posted the Keynote here and you may watch it whenever you get time. Here is the gist. Jobs came out after a funny antenna song video and said they arent perfect, and then went on to show a BlackBerry Bold, a Droid Eris and a Samsung Omnia II dropping bars the very same way. Apple says only 0.55% of iPhone 4 buyers have called AppleCare about reception, and returns at AT&T are at 1.7% against 6% for the 3GS. Over 3 million units sold in 22 days.

Firefox Home, a free application, is now available for download on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Firefox Home provides access to your Firefox desktop history, bookmarks and open tabs on your iPhone. Get up and go and have exactly what you are looking for on the Web on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Firefox Home takes what you sync from desktop Firefox to the cloud and puts it on the phone so you can pick up where you left off.

If you were wondering, this is not a Firefox browser for the iPhone since Apple wont allow that. It works with the free Firefox Sync add-on, so install that on your pc first. Mozilla submitted the app to Apple on June 30th and it took about two weeks to get approved. You need Firefox 3.5 or higher on the computer and iOS 3.1 or later on the phone. It runs on the iPad too but only in iPhone compatibility mode, and theres no Retina support for the iPhone 4 yet. Just search for Firefox Home in the App Store.
