Moto G is Now Available In The UAE

Motorola’s latest Moto G is now available in UAE for just AED 899. That’s right. Moto G has been making a lot of noise online due to its inexpensive price which is not just applicable to US but all around the world. A week back Moto G was also launched in India for Rs 12449/- and has been sold out in most places.

Motorola’s Moto G comes with quad core 4.5” display, dual sim support, 1.2Ghz processor with 1GB of RAM, Kitkat(Upgradeable from the v4.3), 8/16GB, corning gorilla glass 3, 5MP camera on the back with LED flash and a non removable 2070mAh. Considering the features and outright upgradeability to Android 4.4, Moto G is more than a good bargain at this price. Get it before its too late !!

Sony Stops Support For 2012 Xperia Devices

In a very bold and surprising move, Sony has stopped providing support for many of their 2012 smartphones. Through a blogpost on the XperiaBlog, Sony confirmed that it will no longer support Sony Xperia arc S, Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion, Xperia acro S, Xperia go, Xperia P, Xperia J, Xperia miro, Xperia sola, Xperia tipo, and Xperia U. If you own one of these models, now would be a good time to upgrade. In a very competitive field of smartphones, I think its a mistake on Sony’s part to withdraw support for these models considering their age. I’m not quite sure how many of the customers would buy another Sony phone again after this move. What do you think ?

Samsung to unveil Galaxy S5 this February 24th at Mobile World Congress

In a very unexpected announcement, Samsung revealed that they will be announcing the next generation smartphone at Barcelona during MWC. Even though Samsung didn’t specifically mention that they will be announcing the S5, everything in the invite simply points to the Galaxy S5. Samsung has been announcing Galaxy S line devices separately at exclusive “Unpacked” events which happens usually after MWC. But Samsung has changed their plans for this year. It will be amazing to see the device launch along with many other smartphones from other manufacturers. Who will steal the thunder this year ?

Apple Mac Turns 30: Apple posts 30 years of mac Video on Homepage

Its been 30 years since Apple first introduced Mac. Its been a long journey for Apple then. They’ve had the best years so far and it seems like it will continue for a long time from now. Apple Macs were once perceived as a media professional device, but now each and every one of us use one. Its still not anywhere close to Windows systems’ install base, but it sure has marked its presence in various segments in the market.

Apple is really focussing on all markets these days than just focussing on US and Europe. Apple’s iPhone and iPad is widely popular and is also giving people a taste of what Mac feels like through iOS. I’ve been using a Mac for almost seven years now and loves it to very single bit. And I can only regret that why I didnt make the switch any earlier. How long have you been using a Mac ? Or do you switch to a Mac soon ?

Official Instagram App Hits Windows Phone Store

After a really really long wait, Instagram for Windows Phone has finally arrived. It was a really necessary app for Lumia phones as some of the Lumia phones come with some of the best in class camera and lenses. But we shouldn’t forget that there has already been some really good clients on the platform for posting to Instagram like 6tag, Instance and some others. The new Instagram app was released a few hours back and only supports Windows Phone 8 users. Other limitations include incapability to record and upload videos as well as shoot photos within the app with Instagram specific resolution. i.e. When you choose to snap a photo, the app actually call the system camera app. While this is ok, you’ll often find your photo going out of frame as its not captured in Instagram’s supported resolution. This is a beta app. So things will get better definitely. Stay tuned for more updates. And if you still haven’t downloaded the app, hit the link below.

Reliance Offers iPhone 5s & 5c For Free With Unlimited Calls, SMS & 3G For Rs 2999pm

hero-2

iPhone 5s & 5c are launching in India today. Apple has been selling iPhones without any contract so far through carriers. And this time its not different either, except for Reliance who has decided to sell iPhones on contract. You heard that right. You can pay a fixed amount monthly and you can enjoy a brand new iPhone 5s or 5c with unlimited calls, sms and 3G data(No FUP). A reporter from telecomtalk has also made a table detailing the tariff.

The tariff looks really impressive. An unlimited 3G plan itself will cost Rs 2000-2500 because at the moment 10GB 3G plans are priced around Rs 1500. That aside, you get local and national calls and sms unlimited. So this looks like an amazing offer from any direction. If you really want to do the math, Rs 3000 a month for 24 months sums up to Rs 72000. An iPhone 5s 16GB costs Rs 53,500/-. That’s Rs 18,500 after deducting the device cost. That comes down to Rs 770/- a month.

Now visit any carrier’s website and see if you can get an unlimited 3G plan for Rs 770, let alone the unlimited calls and sms. Before Reliance comes back to sense, I recommend you all buy your iPhone 5c and 5s asap.

Selling in millions is not thing of surprise for Samsung. Samsung has sold nearly 38 million Galaxy Notes since 2011. However, the new sales figure comes with a record time frame. 40 million Galaxy S4 units have already reached customers in 180 days which is a new high for Samsung. This is also an indication that they’re still holding strong against their competition. Apple may have a sold a record 9 million iPhones in the launch weekend, yet this is news for Samsung considering the choice of Android devices out there.
