Nokia Social App was Nokia’s own Social app to enjoy Twitter and Facebook on your phone. After all we know neither Facebook nor Twitter has official clients for Symbian phones. Hence symbian users had to rely on third party apps as the Nokia Social client was barely useable. It was buggy, slow and not at all user friendly.
But the new 1.3 beta update has surprised us all. The app has become very stable, smooth and eye candy. In addition, the app brings the following new features:
Staying connected just got easier
- See your friends’ status updates right from their Contacts Card—now you can see what friends are up to before you make a phone call.
- From the Social application, a Linked Contacts indicator enables you to see which friends’ Contacts Cards are linked. Now you can manage your social networks more efficiently. No need to sync all your Social contacts at once, just pick and chose your closest friends and always know what they are up to.
Share your moment through photos
- Add captions when sharing pictures from your camera to bring your photos to life.
- Higher resolution picture upload—up to 4 MB—so what you share is clear and sharp.
Get more from Twitter
- Want to share your favorite Tweet? Now you can retweet!
I wouldn’t recommend you to use this app for Twitter as there’s a lot to be done before one can actually use it. But for Facebook, think no further. Go ahead and download from here.
Nokia Social Team has also hinted that the next update will bring the Facebook notifications support, automatic contact linking and new widget functionalities rounding it up to a full fledged Facebook client. Can’t wait
