Google Nexus S Coming to India: Already on Flipkart For Pre-order
Now that was fast. While we’re still waiting for iPhone 4 to show up officially in our market, Google Nexus S seems to be getting ready for release here. Recent listing the in the Flipkart site indicates that Google Nexus S will be available in the first week of April and they are accepting pre-orders already. The price listed is Rs. 27,999. Not bad at all for a Google phone, especially since we never got the Nexus One here officially.
If you were wondering, this is the Samsung made phone that Google uses as the lead device for Gingerbread. So you get pure stock Android 2.3 straight from Google (already updated to 2.3.3), that curved glass display and an NFC chip which we dont really have any use for in India as of now. No dual core processor though, so if thats a must for you, the Galaxy S II is the one to wait for. But looks like the Nexus S is going to beat the S2 to our market!!
Its not clear yet whether Samsung has got Google’s nod for an official India launch or if this is just some stock being cleared. Either way its great to see a Nexus phone coming here at last. We’ll update once we know more, so stay tuned. Anyone planning to pre-order??
