Symbian Belle Announced Officially: Three New Handsets Added To The Portfolio
Yesterday we reported about the teaser from Nokia about the Symbian Belle event. Today the event was held successfully at Hong Kong. Nokia finally made the Symbian Belle official(Announcement only) and also announced three new devices with Belle on board. I’ve got to say it, Symbian Belle is a huge improvement to the current Symbian Anna. You now get six homescreens instead of three, live widgets in five different sizes, a pull down notification bar for missed calls and messages (finally!!) and a new lock screen. NFC is built in to all the three new phones for tap and share and tap and pair.
The Nokia 701 is the top one with a 3.5″ IPS LCD ClearBlack display which Nokia calls the brightest ever on a mobile phone, 8MP camera, a front camera for video calls and 8GB memory for 290 Euros. The Nokia 700 is the smallest touchscreen monoblock so far with a 3.2″ AMOLED display and 5MP camera for 270 Euros. And the Nokia 600 is the music phone, Nokia’s loudest at 106 phons with an FM transmitter, for 180 Euros. All three run on 1GHz processors and come in Q3 this year.
If you were wondering about your existing phone, the N8, E6, E7, X7, C7, C6-01 and Oro will all get Belle but Nokia hasnt given a date yet. Stay tuned.
