Sony Ericsson Xperia X10: Sony’s Android Hero
Sony today announced their first android os donut 1.6 powered device The Xperia X10. Like other android devices out there, X10 also comes with loads of features like 1Ghz Qualcomm snapdragon processor, 1gb internal memory with 8gb microSD included in the box, 8.1 megapixel camera and some software features like time space, media scape etc. Here are some official photos of the phone. The launch happened in London and that screen is a 4 inch WVGA one at 480 x 854, scratch resistant.
Timescape is basically every bit of communication with one person sitting in one place, so facebook updates, twitter, texts, emails and photos go into a single stack. Mediascape does the same for your music, photos and videos and pulls in youtube and PlayNow too. The camera also does face recognition, it tags your friends in photos and you can tap a face to call them.
Now for the bad news, theres no multitouch, and the folks who got a hands on said the software on the prototype felt laggy. Bert Nordberg, who only took over as president of Sony Ericsson last month, says the X10 and the family of phones launching in the first half of 2010 “underpin our commitment to an open and multi-platform strategy”. It lands in Q1 2010 in black and white, no price yet. Stay tuned.
