After two years of wait, apple finally answers Chinese prayers. Apple signed a deal with world’s largest mobile provider for selling iphones in China. Unicom will be the exclusive apple authenticated iphone seller in the country. The phone is contract free and unlocked. Now before getting too exited read this too.
The iphones now being sold are without wifi in them and are highy priced over $1000 for the high end 3g model. This is because wifi was banned in the country for a while when these units were manufactured. But now the rule has been pulled off and apple will be shipping their next batch of iphones with wifi soon before the year end. Being the second world’s largest mobile market, lets hope India will be the next destination for iphone 3gs launch.
