If you’re a Nokia N8 user, chances are high that you like to take a lot of pictures and videos. Its been every mobile photographers dream phone. And just when you thought you had it all, here comes a new camera update from Nokia Beta Labs bringing 30FPS video recording and the continuos auto-focus that everyone has been asking for.
Nokia says the continuous auto focus lets you shoot video from as close as 10cm all the way to infinity, and the 30fps recording in auto mode should give you much smoother videos, especially when you pan. The camera UI is reworked a bit too. Scene modes now take two fewer clicks to change, and you get exposure compensation and a viewfinder grid in video mode as well.
Now the catch. This is only for the N8 running Symbian Anna, so update your phone first if you havent already. And no, the C7, E7, C6-01, X7 and E6 wont be getting this since the camera hardware is different. Also, the first package Nokia pushed out on Monday was accidentally set to record at 25fps instead of 30, but a fixed version is already up today. So head over to Nokia Beta Labs, register and grab it. Dont forget to restart your phone after installing!!
