iFusion: Next Generation Land Phone Using iPhone
Macworld 2011 is going on and as usual stunning softwares and hardwares are being rolled out. iFusion is the first thing that caught our attention. We’ve seen a lot of accessories that makes iPhone pretty or more usable. But iFusion thought different and made something really cool and stunning. Basically its a land phone for your iPhone. Its from AltiGen Communications and the full name is iFusion SmartStation. Drop your iPhone into the dock and it turns into a desk phone, with a proper wired handset and a full duplex speakerphone for hands free talking. The base talks to the iPhone over Bluetooth, so regular calls work and so does Skype and other VoIP apps.
It charges the phone while docked, theres a pass through USB port so you can sync with iTunes without pulling the phone out, and a stereo mini jack for external speakers if you want to stream music over A2DP. Mute and volume buttons are right on the front. It works with iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 and comes in black or white. The price is $169, but if you pre-order now you get it for $149. Shipping is expected in April. We also hear an Android version is in the works, so EVO owners, stay tuned!!
