Du has just announced on Twitter their new partnership with Souq.com to sell iPhone 4S online in UAE. All iPhone 4S ordered here will be sent by Souq with a Du line. If you don’t have a number with DU, you can choose one from the list with any of their Elite plans starting at AED 125. You can also go for Pay As You Go line at just AED 55. Du is also offering a year of free data for your iPhone. If you haven’t really bought one yet, you may wanna check out these.

iPhones are available in both white and black. The 16GB model cost AED 2,749, the 32GB model costs AED 3199 and the 64GB model costs AED 3599.

Apple is all set to revolutionize education. In a special event in New York, Apple introduced iBooks 2 for iPad. iBooks 2 will contain all the digital versions of your text books. So next time when you work on your Biology project, you don’t have to carry those heavy 1000 page textbooks. Apple has gone beyond just digitalizing textbooks. They’ve found a way to even create study cards. Every text you highlight and every note you make on the iPad are automatically turned into study cards. Amazing, isn’t it ? And as usual they also contain inbuilt dictionary and other online resources to quickly search something.

Textbooks will be distributed via App store. At the moment, there are only high school textbooks which are priced below $14.99. But we will see textbooks on all subjects for all levels soon. Apple has partnered with Pearson, McGraw Hill and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

iBooks 2 for iPad is free and the iBooks Author app is also available for Mac to create some amazing textbooks. The app is now available on the Mac App Store for free. However, these books are around one gigabyte in size. So you may want to buy a 32GB iPad or the 64GB one.

The update is now live. Please note that an iBooks 1.5 update will be shown first. After updating to 1.5, you may update to 2.0. It will simply appear in the updates tab after you update to 1.5.

HTC has announced its successor to the original Titan at the CES 2012 event. The HTC Titan II comes with a huge 4.7 inch super LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 480X800 resolution. This is HTC’s first Windows Phone to support 4G and will be available to AT&T customers in the coming months.

The most stunning feature of the HTC Titan is its camera. It sports 16MP Auto Focus camera with dual LED flash. It could be one of the first phones to feature such a big camera unless some Japanese phones have had it. However, its a bit saddening to know that despite its high megapixel count, it only records 720p videos at 30fps while most 8MP camera record 1080p videos. As for the processor, it has a Qualcomm S2 Snapdragon 1.5Ghz processor, HSDPA/HSUPA support, WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA etc. It will only be available in black. It also has a 1730mAh battery which is quite impressive but not a match to Nokia Lumia 900′s 1830mAh battery. Read more about it here.

Apple is on track for its one of the largest iPhone roll out ever. It’s already available in over 35 countries officially and Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 4S in 21 other countries tomorrow. On January 13, the iPhone 4S will become available in: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, China, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Grenada, Guam, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and Uganda.

We were all skeptical about the Samsung Galaxy Note. Even though it looks great and the fact that we have a S-pen in the package is tempting, people still found it difficult to call it a phone or in the worst case a tablet. Even Samsung wasn’t really sure. Atleast their ads had these captions ” A phone ?? A tablet ?? “. Well, while you may try to figure out what to call this device, the Galaxy Note is selling well in the market. In just about a month, they’ve hit one million mark which is great for a new device in a whole new segment.

The Galaxy Note boasts a giant 5.3″ display with 1.4Ghz Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 2.3 on board, 8MP camera, an S-pen for a handwriting experience etc. We have the Galaxy Note here with us and we’re really loving the S-pen experience. Samsung has really stunned us with the S-pen performance. While its awkward to raise this giant phone to our ears and talk, a headset or Bluetooth headset should help you minimize the awkwardness. If you’re Flipboard user on iPad, you may know that the last update brought Flipboard account feature to sync your Flipboard account between iOS devices. In an update released today, Flipboard has outed the Flipboard for iPhone edition with Cover Stories feature which brings a selection of photos and news articles that are being shared with the user. The more use the app, the better they get. This feature is exclusive to iPhone at the moment and will be added to iPad in a future update.  
 
As an iPad and iPhone user, I’m really excited about the iPhone edition of Flipboard. And the read status sync feature will keep things smooth. The app is just being rolled out at the time of writing this post. Hence we do not have a direct link yet to the iPhone version yet. If you haven’t tried the iPad version, hit the link below.
