OS 6.0.0.333 Leaked for Blackberry Bold 9650

Yet another good news for Blackberry Bold 9650 users. A new leak as reported by the bbleaks indicates that the OS 6 version is now available for the Bold 9650 users. This is not an official update. So install this update your risk and don’t forget to back up the device. Also be sure you have enough battery before you start. The file going around is 9650_512AMEA_PBr6.0.0_rel1141_PL4.4.0.234_A6.0.0.333.exe and bbleaks has it up on Hotfile, FreakShare, RapidShare and DepositFiles, so pick whichever one isnt crawling for you. Crackberry picked it up the same day and even they admit they have no idea whats new in this build. The last one, 6.0.0.280, landed on October 5th and before that we had 222.

From the comments it looks like people are hoping .333 finally sorts out the text message bug and that laggy notification bar, since a few of them were rebooting the phone a lot on the last build. What nobody can say is when Sprint or Verizon will ship an official one. RIM did say on August 3rd that the 9650, the 9700 and the Pearl 3G would get OS 6, subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, and here we are in November still pulling exe files off file hosts. bbleaks is asking the same question we are. Tell us how it goes.

Partly reconstructed with AI. This post’s full text was lost when the site went offline. Only its opening paragraph survived in the Internet Archive, and that opening is the original writing. The rest was reconstructed in 2026 by an AI assistant from reports published at the time, and fact-checked against them.
