Iphone 3GS Coming To India

Yes guys, the wait is over. Unconfirmed reports say, Apple has announced that they will release Iphone 3GS in India on 19th september 2009. Although the apple site doesnot hint us anything about this. The phone was expected this month but due to less stock caused by high demand in many countries the launch date had to be delayed. Anyway, there is only one thing we all wanna know. The price tag. Well here it is:

Iphone 3gs 16gb: Rs 36000/-

Iphone 3gs 32gb: Rs 40000/-

Now thats a very bad move from apple especially phones like nokia n900, sony ericsson satio etc are expected with a lesser price tag. Moreover, they could have atleast kept the price tag at 31k and 36k itself like they did in US where the prices remain unchanged. It seems like they are happy with iphone 3g sale in India which is why the price seems to be like this. Many of you might have planned to buy one but the price tag might not be fitting to everyone. After weeks of test run, Nokia India music store is now live. Nokia Music Store include the ability to listen to a 30 second clip of any track on the store before downloading it. You can browse for new music, get recommendations or search for their favorite artists, songs or albums all from the palm of their hand. You can download directly to a mobile device without having to download the same song again on their computer. You will also be able to transfer songs via a PC to compatible Nokia devices.

For those who are new to nokia music store, its an online music store from where you can download unlimited music for a monthly fixed fee or you may get free download coupon upon purchasing any of the following devices. All the expressmusic models,N97,  N86 , E71, E63,Nokia 5630, Nokia 5530 and Nokia 5230. These phones also come with a preinstalled client.

Nokia has also signed up with local music distributors like Universal Music Group, Sony Music, EMI and Warner and major independent Indian record labels including Tseries, Yashraj Music, Saregama, BIG Music, Venus etc.

The music store client is now available for only windows xp sp3 versions and higher.

Palringo gets an update: Bug Fixes & Touch Support

The social communication software for mobile palringo received an update today including several bug fixes and touch support for the s60 fifth edition devices. Now you will see your client responding faster with feedback. The app also lets you to sign up for new accounts within the app for itself which you previously had to go to the website. Palringo also has a mac client which is in pre-alpha stage.

Youtube for s60v5 gets a major update

Nokia N97 gets firmware Update to v12

Yesterday Nokia N97 received a firmware update with a few changes. The current version of n97 is v11 and has been upgraded to v12. You can read the change log below.

* Following cases have been corrected and/or improved
– Fix for browser cache consuming more than specified in C drive
– Battery indictor showing wrong status (2-3bars) when charging completes
– Firmware over the air (FOTA) setting correction
– User interaction to device while FOTA may cause need for user to power on/off
– Fix for calendar entry lost
– Fix for mail that may get duplicated
– Fix to resolve GPRS access point selection even if WLAN access point is available
– Fix to not to ask user to do new profile while there is already one available
– Fix to display messaging application correctly when theme effect is set to ON
– Fix for Ovi store client may not properly installed if user has a client already installed earlier version
* Applications changes
– Ovi store application is now updated
