The most notable event this time is Vopium hitting the Nokia Ovi store. Availability of Vopium at Ovi means Nokia users can now take full advantage of Vopium’s award winning application to save big on their international calling needs. They are also running promotion on all the call packages making it cheapest ever calling for Nokia folks right now.
Vopium, if you were wondering, is a Danish mobile VoIP app that claims upto 90% savings on international calls, and the award we are talking about is the Frost & Sullivan 2009 European Mobile VoIP Technology Innovation Award from April. The app has been on Nokia Download since May and with the Ovi Store listing on October 14th its now on all the major stores, iPhone, BlackBerry and Android included. Just grab it from the Ovi Store on your phone or from ovi.com, the account gets created on its own and you get 30 free minutes plus 30 free international SMS.
Now the promotion. The double minutes offer Vopium announced back in August has been extended till 31st October. So Call India gives you 800 minutes instead of 400, Call Pakistan 500 instead of 250 and Call the World 2000 minutes to landlines in 49 countries. Vopium said in August the packages cost 12.95 Euros a month. If you call home a lot, this is the time to buy one!!
