Two New Ads To Apple’s Ridiculous If You Don’t Have An iPhone Campaign

Comments Off on Two New Ads To Apple’s Ridiculous If You Don’t Have An iPhone Campaign

I’ve always been a fan of Apple ads until the If you don’t have an iPhone ad campaign was aired. Usually Apple ads are very meaningful in filled with exotic style. But this one is nothing like that. A lot of negative feedback have been there for this ad. But Apple doesn’t seem to care. Yesterday they aired two more ads in the same series, this time showing off FaceTime and AirPlay on the iPhone 4. The FaceTime ad has people video chatting from iPhone to iPhone, iPhone to MacBook Air and iPhone to iPad. The AirPlay one shows a guy streaming music from his iPhone to his stereo and photos and videos to his TV. Both are up on Apple’s YouTube channel.

I did notice one small change though. The earlier ads ended with “Yup, if you don’t have an iPhone, well, you don’t have an iPhone”. These two end with “just one more thing that makes an iPhone an iPhone”. So may be somebody at Apple did listen after all. Even Jon Friedman, a Dow Jones media columnist, wrote that he cringes when he hears those commercials and that they show “an elitist view of its customers in the marketplace”. I have to agree with him there. FaceTime and AirPlay are great features no doubt, its just the attitude that puts me off. Anyway, watch them and let us know what you think in the comments.
