Have you been using skyfire on your s60 3rd edition phone ?? Then you probably know what Iam talking about. Skyfire is one of the best mobile web browsers out there. Its fast like Opera Mini and supports flash too. Yum Yum, wondering if it has an s60v5 version ?? Well, there is one under development. Or atleast thats what Skyfire has been telling us.
Right now the Skyfire site lists only Windows Mobile and the Nokia N and E series phones on s60 3rd edition. Nothing for the 5800 or n97. Some folks did get the 3rd edition version running on a 5800, but only with a bluetooth keyboard since it doesnt understand the touch screen at all.
But Skyfire knows we are waiting. Back in September when they announced another 5 million dollars in funding, Jeff Glueck from Skyfire wrote on their blog, “We hear all of you waiting for a better browsing experience on the BlackBerry and Symbian S60, 5th edition. We are working hard and will let you all know when we’re ready to bring those to public beta”. So its in the works, but no date yet. We will let you know the moment a beta shows up, so stay tuned !!
