Today reQall is releasing a beta version of reQall for Android(TM) with: location-based and time-based reminders Here and Now list All items list Add by voice using Google’s voice recognizer We’re also releasing a brand new web interface with categories, tags, adding locations by address, new lists and viewing options, a configurable Today list, favorite lists and bulk operations. Many of those go to the iPhone client next, then Android.
Its a public beta, so everybody gets in. Point the browser on your phone at reqall.com/android, tap Download and install. You need Android 1.5 or above. Add by Voice only works if Google Voice Search is already on the phone, because reQall just hands your recording to Android’s own recognizer. And that recognizer wont catch a time unless you say am or pm.
Anything to do with locations is Pro only, and Pro is $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year. Standard stays free. You cant create categories and tags in the Android app either, you set those on the web. And a reader on reQall’s own blog says the location alerts ate 70% of his Droid battery with the GPS staying on all the time, so watch that. We’re trying it out, stay tuned.
