Ovi Store 2.8 To Bring Features That It Must Have Come With Years Back
If you’re our regular reader, you must have read about our article where we mentioned almost all the misses of Ovi store. Well, it looks like prayers of Symbian^3 users have been answered. Ovi store is finally getting the App Updates option. Yes !!! App Updates:So what does that mean for you ?? Well, once you update to Store 2.8 and sign in, the client checks on its own whether any of your downloaded apps have a newer version. If there is one, you’ll see a green flag next to the Account tab. Tap it and you get the full list of apps waiting for an update, and you can update them one by one or just hit “All”. Its Symbian^3 only for now, Nokia says the web store and Series 40 will get it in the near future.
Thats not all. The Top Free and Best Seller lists are now worked out by country and by device, so whats hot on an E72 wont mess up the rankings on your N8, and apps popular in India wont get buried under stuff thats popular elsewhere. The store.ovi.com website gets a “People who bought this also bought” section, and S60 phones get Arabic in the store.
All this is rolling out over the next few days, so dont panic if you dont see it on your phone yet. Better late than never we guess. Stay tuned.
