Nokia today announced the long awaited successor of Nokia e71 known as the Nokia e72. The phone is a powerful business+fun phone. If you are wondering why the fun word is used for eseries devices, here is why. Nokia e72 sports a 5mp camera, 3.5mm music jack, videos recorded at 640*480 pixels etc. The 5mp camera does autofocus with an LED flash, and that video is at 15fps. The display is the same 2.36 inch QVGA panel as the e71, so no upgrade there, but the processor has gone up to 600Mhz from the 369Mhz on the e71 and it runs Symbian 9.3 with S60 3.2.
Rest of the sheet reads wifi, 3.5G, a 1500mah battery, a-gps with compass and maps, and the new Optical Navi key that scrolls when you slide a finger over it. Nokia is bundling an 8gb microsd card too. We also liked the active noise cancellation on calls and the torch you can switch on right from the spacebar. Nice touch !!
Now the part you are waiting for. In India the MRP is Rs 22,989 and the colors are Zodium Black and Topaz Brown. Nokia has a pre-book page up already, and it promises a Best Buy price under the MRP, so dont walk in and pay full. We are trying to get one for a proper review, so stay tuned.
