One of the biggest problems with Google Maps App was that every time you reset your phone or change your phone and install maps, you will see that all your starred items will be lost. Then you will have to do it all over again which can be tiring when you have a lot of places saved. Well, thats finally fixed. On the 2nd Google put out Google Maps for mobile 3.3 for Windows Mobile and Symbian phones and your stars now sync with your Google Account. Star a place on the phone and it turns up in Google Maps on your computer. When you upgrade and log in it asks whether you want to sync the starred items you already have, so you dont lose them. And if youre on a Nokia, your Ovi Maps favourites get uploaded on the first sync too. Nice !!

The 3.3 build had a nasty bug where the app just quit the moment you opened Layers from the menu, and going by the comments on Google’s own blog, 3.3.1 sorts that out. So dont bother with 3.3. Head to m.google.com/maps in your mobile browser and grab it. It works on S60 3rd and 5th edition, so most of you should be covered. Try it and let us know in the comments how the sync goes for you.
