Google’s latest social networking website’s Android app has just received a new update today. The app was released along with the roll out of the Google+ services. The app is decent and does the job pretty well. But some users faced some issues and crashes with the app. The new update is supposed to fix those. The version number is still 1.0.2 but the Market listing says updated 7/14/11. You can now customise your stream to show posts from individual circles (Stream > Menu > Manage Views), add multiple people or entire circles to an existing group Huddle, and set a photo as your wallpaper while viewing it. On the fixes side, Google has sorted out some issues with the Swype keyboard, and if someone you’ve never huddled with before pulls you into a group Huddle you can now just dismiss the invite. Plus the usual “performance improvements and bug fixes throughout the app”. We are updating ours now and will let you know if the crashes are gone.
If you were wondering about the iPhone client, still no word. Google’s Erica Joy had said on Google+ earlier this month that the app “has been submitted to the App Store” and is awaiting approval, and will likely be universal for iPhone and iPad.
