Two weeks back Google released the much anticipated GMail app for iOS. In not more than an hour, Google had to pull the app from the App store due to bug that caused push notifications not to work. In fact, every user who launched the app was welcomed with an error message about the same.
The app looks hideous in every way. Its basically the same GMail web page for iOS wrapped inside an application frame work. Its UI is very dull and the performance was not up to the mark as well. The app gained negative feedbacks in minutes and was pulled back. Google apologized for the error though their official GMail twitter account.
Its really surprising to see such a substandard app from Google especially for iOS. Most users have pledged not to try the app even when its back. If you’re on hunger for a new mail app, here’s something to be excited about. Famous Mac email client Sparrow will soon hit the iOS devices.
