You might have expected to see Google selling the Nexus 4 via Play Store like they did with the Nexus 7 tablet. But its not just ready yet it seems. Meanwhile, Flipkart takes the lead by putting Nexus 4 for preorder in their site. The new nexus 4 made by LG boasts a 4.7 inch True HD IPS Plus display with 1280 x 768 pixels, a 1.5GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front shooter and a 2100mAh battery. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is on board, and yes, you get NFC and wireless charging too.
Now the price. Flipkart wants Rs 25,990 and thats for the 16GB version, the only one listed. No 8GB on offer here at all. The same 16GB Nexus 4 sells for $349 in the US Play Store and the 8GB for $299, so yeah, we are paying a fat premium for what is supposed to be the affordable nexus.
Flipkart says the preorders should ship in the fourth week of May. Google still hasnt listed the Nexus 4 on the India Play Store, so if you want stock Android with guaranteed updates thats the only door open right now. We will let you know if that changes. Stay tuned !!
