I wasn’t really a big fan of Facebook for Android for that it was a lot buggy, feature less and not very pretty. However, today the app has received a new update that has fixed a lot of concerns I had with the app. The app now features Pull Down To Refresh which is something I’ve been wanting for a long time, and Facebook didnt even mention it in the changelog!!
So here is whats new in 1.7. The sharing tool now has privacy controls on each post, so you can pick who gets to see what you share, matching your settings on the website. You can tag friends and places in posts and tag friends in photos too. Profile and Group walls have a new design and the News Feed has three buttons on top to add a photo or video, update your status or check in. You can swipe through photos now, Messages and Notifications are improved and a number of crashes and performance issues are fixed.
The app works on Honeycomb tablets again as well, though its not really a tablet friendly experience yet. msnbc’s reviewer couldnt get tagging inside photos to work, and users on the official Facebook for Android page are already airing other problems.
