Siri is the biggest highlight of iPhone 4S. And Apple has been taking it very seriously. Most iPhone 4S ads to date have featured Siri. And today there’s someone else more and its Hollywood’s Samuel Jackson. Sam is getting ready for a date and he is preparing dinner with the help of Siri. Its interesting how Siri can be a part of everything. Watch and find out.
Samsung has just sent out the invitation for their next big most awaited launch of this year. The invitation which speaks less hints that its the launch of their next Galaxy smartphone which we strongly believe is the Galaxy S3 or whatever they might call the successor of renowned Galaxy S2 smartphone. As usual, the phone will launched in their Samsung Mobile Unpacked event. But, this time its happening in London on May 3rd. That’s right ! Its just two weeks from now.
We’ve seen plenty of rumors about the Galaxy SIII, our eyes are tired of seeing the mock ups and now on May 3rd we may see what Samsung has really got for us. The invitation shows a brushed metal finish. Lets hope that Samsung has added some premium feel to the device than the old plastic-y feeling on its predecessors. The phone is also rumored to have a larger screen than Galaxy S2 and smaller than Note. A HD display will not be a surprise and 32GB internal storage out of the box will be welcomed. Samsung always gives the best hardware for its high end Galaxy series, so a quad core processor and 1GB of RAM or higher is expected. The Camera is what we aren’t really sure of. Last week we reported Nokia’s latest ad campaign where they call all smartphones or at least the iPhones as beta phones. The videos were pretty good and yes to some extent we have to agree that they were right. But then, they released Lumia 900 in the US through AT&T. Those Lumia 900s came with a data issue which resulted many pissed off users everywhere. That was a huge setback to Nokia as they almost proved the point what they were trying to tell through these videos. However, Nokia solved this bug quickly by releasing a fix way before the promised date. I know, its surprising. Not very Nokia there.
Now in this new ad campaign, Nokia stresses on the fact that all smartphones doesn’t have to look alike. Of course there’s this similar looking iPhone 4 & 4S, Most HTC phones and of course the Galaxy Series from Samsung which are no different. This ad campaign is for promoting Lumia and oh boy does Lumia 800/900 and N9 look alike ?? I guess so. While these idea of campaign is real good, I think Nokia may have to be little careful. Apple iPad launch is one of the most awaited launch for any Apple fanatic or to anyone who’s into tablets. If you’ve been waiting for its launch, here’s some good news. Apple has just announced that its releasing its latest iPad known as the New iPad into 21 countries this April. The first round of launch is on 20th April to countries like South Korea, Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St Maarten, Uruguay and Venezuela.And on April 27, the new iPad will be available in Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, South Africa and Thailand.
Its interesting to see India getting the attention from Apple which was not the case before. It was also good to see Apple launching the iPhone 4S in India on November 25th after its announcement on October 4th. The new iPad prices are as below:
New iPad 16GB WiFi will cost Rs 30,500/-, 32GB will cost Rs 36500 and 64GB version will cost Rs. 42500.
The cost of Wi-Fi + 4G 16GB unit will be 16GB Rs. 38900, Rs. 44900 for 32GB and Rs. 50900 for 64GB.
Not to mention, these are official prices, so we should see cheaper price on the streets and sites like eBay.
Sony Xperia S is now available in India. In a recent launch event held at Delhi, Sony announced their latest flagship the Sony Xperia S in India. The phone was available for pre-order a few days back for those who couldn’t wait. Sony is also offering a lot of accessories with the device purchase. You can grab car charger, HDMI cable, NFC tags and much more. All this is available for Rs 32,549/- which is the MRP. So one can find even cheaper rates on the market without losing the free accessories bundle.
For those who are new, Sony Xperia S comes with 4.3 inch HD Display powered Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine. This LED backlight display is vivid and sharp with 342ppi. Yes, that more than iPhone 4/4S which is at 324ppi. On the inside it has 1.5Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor, 32GB internal memory with 1GB RAM. There’s no SD card slot in the phone. This may not be a good news to some of the users out there. What we didn’t like about the device is that it still runs Gingerbread(2.3). Sony has announced that the device would get Ice Cream Sandwich in second quarter. The phone has a 12Mp camera which takes stunning pictures during the day and decent pictures during low light. The design of the phone is simply gorgeous with a beautiful glass cutting towards the button which glows taking it to a new level of style and gorgeousness. The phone undoubtedly has WiFi, BT, 3G HSDPA. And if you haven’t guessed yet, it has NFC too. So you can wave and pay or simply wave and pair with compatible accessories.

Popular photo sharing app Instagram launched its brand new client for Android devices running Android 2.2 or higher with support for OpenGL 2.0. The service was initially launched for iOS in 2010 and has been one of the best apps of all time since then. Instagram has some amazing effects that can really bring out the best of your pictures. An Android client has been rumored for a long time and now its finally here to million of users. Within a day of launch, the company saw over 1 million sign ups from it’s Android client itself. The CEO Kevin Systrom said that sign ups were happening at a rate of 2000 per minute.
The company also claimed that the Android version has a better UI than its iPhone version. However, Android users may have to wait to get the impressive “Tilt Shift” feature to their clients. And of course, Android tablet users are left out at the moment. There is no word on a client for Windows Phone or Blackberry at the moment. So those users may have to just wait. Nokia is busy promoting its Lumia series. With its imminent launch in the US, Nokia is getting their marketing done well. Nokia’s Lumia phones are really good looking. Its obviously a refreshing design over the aging iPhone design and the not-so-cool Android devices. Windows Phone may not be tempting to high end users, however Nokia is really doing their best with their own unique softwares for the Lumia series to keep them different and better.
The new series of video campaign shows inside video of a beta test lab where they are talking about the iPhone and few of its glitches. Like in 2007, a worker talks about its poor visibility in sunlight. While in a 2010 video footage, they seem to talk about antenna gate. It may be funny to some while really annoying series to a few.
