Apple iPhone 5 Sets A New Record With 2 Million Pre-Orders In 24 Hours

Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 on September 12th at a special media event held at San Francisco this year. The latest iPhone from Apple comes with a 4 inch display breaking the tradition of sporting a 3.5 inch display which has been the standard on the iPhones for the past 5 generations. The new iPhone also sports a new custom A5 chip and twice the RAM compared to the immediate predecessor. More details on the new iPhone can be found here.

Even though the initial response for the iPhone wasn’t very positive, the sales figures on the first day told a different story. Apple received over 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours which is twice the sales of Apple iPhone 4S in the same period.
