Sony has just announced that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for their flagship smartphone Xperia S will be rolling out today. In a recent blog post, Sony details the update and has also included a video showing the latest new features in the update. The Xperia S was released with Android Gingerbread on board and has received a few updates till date. However, this is the major release from Sony since the launch of the product. Sony has been updating their previous generation Xperia devices to Ice Cream Sandwich since last month and promised the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xperia S to be released in June. Not all may be looking forward to updates like these, however there are many geeks and enthusiasts out there who hates to live with old softwares on their phone. Hence, their purchase decision always include update release frequencies by brands. This roll out is a good sign from Sony and we hope the other Xperia devices like the Xperia P, U and Sola will get the update soon.
