Siri Ported From iPhone 4S to iPhone 4: Barely Works

9to5Mac has just posted that developer Steven Troughton Smith who has been working with them exclusively on porting Siri to iPhone 4 has managed to port it and has given us a video(posted above). It can be noted that Siri can barely run on the iPhone 4. One of the biggest requirement for Siri is the A5 chip that is absent on the iPhone 4. Besides, iPhone 4 also sports a less powerful GPU that can handle Siri’s animations and graphics. The developer also noted that the GPU driver files were not found in the 4S’ binary cache.

The point here is even if the developer manages to find the GPU driver for Siri, it will still be slow as its a program running on the background all the time and it may affect other programs that you run time to time. In Apple’s term, the new CPU is twice as fast and has 7X graphics performance over the iPhone 4. So there’s going to be a huge performance difference obviously. But for the curious and those who’ve decided not to upgrade, this may be a good news.
