Google has just released an update to its maps app on iPhone to add address search from contacts information, searches by point of interest and other fixes. The new version 1.1 is also being pushed to Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar and UAE app stores finally. Users from these countries were very disappointed to see Google skipping the availability of Maps app in these stores and they were forced to create a US account to download it. Here’s the official changelog:
* Search your Google Contacts; sign in to have your saved addresses show up when you search for friends and family by name. * Quickly search for local places by selecting popular categories such as restaurants, bars, cafes, gas stations, etc. * Choose between Kilometers or Miles for your preferred distance units. * Note that some features may not be available in all countries.

Hyundai is conducting an exciting contest on Facebook to promote their SUV Santa Fe. Would you look at that coincidence ?? Isn’t Facebook the same place where you spend most of your time ? Wink Wink !! The game lets you be in the shoes of a secret agent who is looking for a missing document related to the game story. The game takes you through the streets of New York, London and Dubai. The game includes cinematic trailers in between to brief you through what’s happening and what you should do next. You also get to explore these cities in the car and learn even more with the help of the cool features in the car. And if all that wasn’t enough for you, then you should know that you could also get to pick your friends as certain characters in the game. And no they don’t have to play, you would just use their profile picture to identify each characters and that’s it.
I did try playing the game myself and I must say, the game is interesting. I chose the New York city to start with. The game fetched my profile picture and started the game with a nice graphics which was giving me instructions to drive to a certain location. And while thats happening, you get to check out the Navigation system built into Santa Fe’s dashboard. Thats the basic idea of the campaign, it gets you play the game while also getting to know the car and its features. The streets look almost real giving you an almost real driving experience. Once you find out the missing secret document, you will be eligible to win the prizes. Selected winners will get a Macbook Air, 3 iPad Minis and Facebook credits. In case of multiplayers who qualify, Hyundai will randomly chose the winners. And who knows, a few days from now, you would be showing off a Macbook Air or iPad Mini.
